Welcome to Bean's Food Bible...
Thanks for taking time to check out my food blog! Join me on my adventure to mould together my two great passions in life - tasty food and healthy living. I've always loved cooking - my mum taught me how to cook when I was 8 and from then I spent most of my time watching cooking shows (shout out Ready Steady Cook), and buying random cooking utensils to test out (I'll always remember my first Wok from Argos). Whilst I was at uni, I worked in a health shop and that's where I learned about nutrition and the value of keeping a balanced diet and how to track macros if you are trying to reach particular fitness goals.
Over the past two years, I've spent a lot of time trying to hone my cooking skills; this involved watching various YouTube videos, getting connected with foodies on Instagram, and a ton of trial and error whilst cooking. I follow a plant based diet and I documented a lot of my exploits with vegan cooking/baking on Instagram. But a lot of my friends and family are meat eaters and I also cook for them, so I wanted a space where I can share dishes that I make for myself, my family/friends, and for when I am macro counting.
Hence the birth of Bean's Food Bible - which will share both vegan and non vegan recipes - some will be tailored to be high in protein and healthy fats (see Healthy Living) and some will be tailored for times where you want to treat yo'self (see Indulgent Meals). I'll always endeavour to share vegan options in the meat recipes so they can be catered to everyone's needs.
Please let me know if you have any requests and I'll give them a go!

Please Note: Always consult a doctor when starting a new diet, the macros stated here are estimated using data provided on the packaging of ingredients. Macro counting can be a useful tool when trying to bulk or cut - but also not necessary - remember to be mindful of what you eat and feed your body appropriately with the nutrients it needs.
